About
Hey, I'm Gabriella! You can call me Gab or Gabby! I am passionate about advocating for youth mental health, as I am inspired by my own battles with anxiety and depression during middle school all the way to early college. Being a mentor is something I am so excited to do! All I want is to make others feel heard, understood, and most especially supported.
What I'm Doing
I just graduated from Rutgers University in May with a Bachelors in Psychology, and I just started my Masters in Social Work at Rutgers! My dream post graduating from my MSW program is to be a therapist, but I also have a passion for being an Oncology Social Worker. On the side I volunteer and part-time work at a local dog rescue, it is called Pitbulls and Addicts aka Broken Souls Rescue and Recovery. It is more than just a dog rescue, the owner takes in really abused dogs, typically pitbulls, some of them come in starved to the point you can see all their burns, or they were left by their owners on busy roads tied up, and then he and our team work to rehabilitate them. I love all of the dogs there, and I did end up adopting one last year, they are all so special to me and no matter where I end up in life I will definitely still find myself there. It is such an amazing place that really emphasizes accepting any individual no matter what their past is, and working through our own battles while pouring our energies into fixing the broken hearts of the dogs!
