How it works

How it works

  1. Find your match

We match your teen with a mentor based on what they are going through.

  1. Get connected on our app

Your teen gets connected to their mentor via our app and can talk, text, and video call when they want throughout the month.

  1. Receive unlimited support

There's no limit to how much support your teen can get from their mentor.

The Problem

50% of LGBTQ+ teens struggle with their mental health

According to the CDC, close to 70% of LGBTQ+ students experienced persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness during the past year and more than 50% had poor mental health during the past 30 days. Almost 25% attempted suicide during the past year.

How are mentors trained & supervised?

How do you ensure that my teen is safe?

All communication between your teen and their mentor happens on our app. In addition, we have live content moderation that screens for nudity, self-harm, and other concerns. These are flagged and monitored by our team in real time.

How do teens and mentors set boundaries?

In their first call, your teen and their mentor will agree to the communication structure and cadence that works well for them. All mentors have “unavailable hours” which are traditionally between 9pm-9am. During these hours, there’s no expectation that a mentor must respond. Otherwise, Mentors typically respond in under 3 hours but are expected to respond in the same day at a minimum.

Is the relationship between my teen and their mentor confidential?

The relationship between your teen and their mentor is confidential, unless they are a danger to themselves or someone else. You will recieve a monthly high-level update from your teen's mentor that includes an overview of the month and your teen’s engagement. If a clinical issue arises, we will notify you as seen in our escalation policies on our "Terms and Policies" document.

What if my teen wants a new mentor?

Your teen can switch mentors at any point! We check in with your teen after their first call with a mentor to make sure the relationship feels good to them. We continue to check in on a monthly basis with them, as well as giving them an open line to our team through the app.

Is there any commitment I have to make?

There is no commitment. You can cancel your teen's mentorship at any time.

Is there a minimum age?

Yes. As of now, we unfortunately cannot take any teens under 13 years old.

Do you offer financial aid?

Yes. Please let one of our team members know and we can discuss how to make the mentorship work for your family.

When do I have to pay?

You only need to pay once your teen has accepted their mentor match. From that point onward, your mentorship will renew on a monthly basis.
